Up hwy 68... soon gets to where you follow the Rio Grande river along the valley. Then you see the Rio Grande gorge... the Taos volcanic plateau and the Rio Grande River has cut through the basalt flows... and you know you're getting close.
Taos is a somewhat small town. Kit Carson was here. Made his homestead here & it's a museum. A LOT of old west history here.
Let's go see the real reason this is named Taos.
This pueblo of the Taos tribe has been here over a thousand years.
This is another UNESCO world heritage site and I was excited to be able to see this.
